The Five By Five Live Challenge: Improve Your Accent In Just Five Minutes, Five Times a Week

Hi, I’m Christine Dunbar and this is My SMART American Accent Training. I’m excited to tell you about a new American Accent Training Challenge for you.

I’m calling it the Five by Five Live Challenge, because I’m going to be giving you 5 live classes a week, for about 5 minutes each, for the next 5 weeks.  It’s really five by five by five live, but that’s a bit of a mouthful even for me!

Why am I doing the 5 by 5 Live Challenge?  Well, for many people working on improving their American accent, it’s hard to find the time to do the practice you need to make changes in your speech patterns.  In my SMART training videos, I give you quick tips for efficient and effective practice.

For the next 5 weeks, I’m going to devote 5 minutes, 5 times a week, to reviewing these quick tips and practicing with you.  You can join me live if the time is right, or set aside the best 5 minutes each day for you and review the video from that day.  We’ll meet at random times so you’ll be sure to be able to catch some live, and we’ll take a couple of days off each week since we all have days where we don’t even have 5 minutes to spare.

But here’s the idea - if you take this challenge and spend these 5 minutes, 5 times a week, for 5 weeks, you’ll see a significant change in your speech.  You don’t need to sit down for hours and hours to see improvements, but you do need to practice regularly.  So here’s an opportunity to get a new habit and really make progress on your goals.  

I’m really excited to do this challenge with you. If you aren’t subscribed to the channel yet, or if you haven’t turned on notifications, you might want to do that so you’ll get notified for each new challenge video.  As I said, I’m going to do lots of different times, before work, lunchtime, evening, and weekends, so you can catch the live broadcast some of the time, and watch the replays at the most convenient times for you.
