|Speech Modification American Accent Training|
When you have practiced your new pronunciation patterns at the word and phrase level, you are ready to begin additional generalization (the process of bringing the new skills into more contexts). One useful way to practice new pronunciation is by reading aloud. Use the paragraphs below to practice your Z sound at the ends of words - you can use the modified paragraph to help you notice which letter S's say /z/, or read the regular text and test yourself. As always, it's a good idea to record yourself and listen to your speech - did you catch all of the /z/ sounds as you read?
The letter A in English can be used to represent several different vowel sounds. The most common vowels spelled with A are /æ/ as in black cat, /ɔ/ as in caught law, and /ə/ as in such fun.
