    Part Three:  Reading

Record yourself reading the passage below.  Send your recording to [email protected].
Hello everyone. I'd like to thank you for the opportunity to take part in this discussion. As many of you know, I have strong opinions about this topic and I want to share them with you today.  All I ask of you is to try to keep an open mind while listening, and remember that personal growth involves self-examination and change. Please try to withhold your judgement until I've completed my talk.
Recent events have demonstrated that our society has several urgent problems which need to be addressed. Most people agree on the existence of these problems, but not the solutions.  Some groups look at social services as the primary method,  while others feel more financial resources are the way to combat the issues.
I'm going to add a third area which is often overlooked: information. Without a solid understanding of history, society is doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over. Educating ourselves and our children is a major key to improvement and change.

    Part Four:  Spontaneous Speech

For this recording, please speak for 2 - 3 minutes about a topic familiar to you.  You can talk about your goals for accent training, describe your current job, talk about a family tradition or describe a favorite hobby or activity.  Send your recording to [email protected].
